Catching Up with Nahko Bear and Medicine for the People

Artist Nahko Bear, travelved through Hawaii and South East Asia before the second album from Nahko Bear and Medicine for the People was released in 2013, Dark as Night was the first album from the group, that I owned and in 2015. I too travelled to Hawaii and through South East Asia.

World beat, a world wide dance current energy flowing, the travellers way, Nahko’s information and story telling is orienting to the vagabond, the world traveller, the buisness in the sky, and the hard working householder a like.

Years ago the Artist was out there and I was at home, sitting in a garage, wondering. Perceptions of a great journey, strange vagabon adventures of the way like I had lived before in New Zealand and Australia.

Nahko’s Album giving voice to the dream like vision of a present memory shared in the Now.

The North American Take Your Power Back Tour seems like the largest scale endeavour by the group to date. The first weekend of November 2025, the tour arrived in Denver for it’s final show.

The performers were well prepared and the stage was impressive…

…Brought the effort of a lifetime to the Stampede in Aurora.

The show was a strong and dynamic arrangement of sycronized and meaningful action. The design and graphic art was a show unto itself, the lighting and coordination brought the happening of the event from a mundane musical performance to a life changing tour de force of supramundane awareness, concious celebration, peace activisim, defiance, determination, and superb showmanship.

The next tour begins in February as the hard working band heads to Europe for an inter continental tour of The Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Hungry, Austria, The United Kingdom, The Cheque Republic, and Switzerland.
